Rottweiler Puppy Picks
To protect the ethics of our breeding program, Ostenberg Rottweilers will have the final decision in your puppy. We feel it is very important to place our puppies in proper homes. We will decide our picks based on the information you provide on what you are looking for in a Rottweiler. We do not want a working temperament landing in a non-working home or visa versa. We utilize all of our professional resources available when making our picks; other ethical breeders, show handlers, professional dog trainers and our veterinarian all have input in this process. During the first 7 weeks we observe how the puppies interact with their litter mates, mom and humans. This tells us a lot about their personalities and how they learn. At 7 weeks old we temperament test the puppies to determine the natural dominance or submissiveness of each puppy and what type of home will give them the best opportunity to excel.
Show/breeding prospects should have no phenotypical faults. It is our ethical duty to ensure our puppies are placed in homes that will allow them to thrive properly. It is your responsibility to be open, honest and clear with us about your needs in a puppy, previous experience with Rottweilers and what your plans are for the puppy. We expect all of our puppy parents to properly socialize and train their new puppy.
All picks are finalized by Ostenberg Rottweilers at 8 weeks and will be sent to clients that have deposits on the litter. This allows us time to put together everyone’s contracts, AKC papers and puppy packs before pick up weekend. Pick ups will be at 9 weeks unless prior arrangements have been made.
Ostenberg Rottweilers LLC will work with you in every way possible; however Ostenberg Rottweilers Reserves the Right to pick your puppy for you based on the needs you have stated.
